Speaking of being a mother, I am REALLY wanting to get in shape, but finding it crazy-difficult to blend running or any type of work-out program with kids. I am a single mother of three. Do you have suggestions, things that worked for you or for others that you know that have had your kind of motivation but with kids? I am barely affording daycare to be able to work part time. Thanks!!!
I lost most of my excess weight without running. When my kids were little, I walked (with a stroller) a lot. Walking (not slow strolling or moseying but walking at a fast pace- like you're in a hurry) is a great way to burn fat. My weight loss story/success was featured in a book called "Win the Fat War for Moms" published by Rodale in 2001. I didn't run at all at that time...
